The symbolism of slavery

Every morning, working men and women all over the world partake in a self-mutilating and humiliating ritual to acknowledge their own destiny of lifelong slavery.

The man holds a sharp object against his throat just so he will look clean and decent amongst his fellow slaves. He then applies a leash around his neck and handcuffs himself before voluntarily heading to the quarry for the day's labour.

The woman covers up her face with a heavy layer of powder (the shameful face of a slave must not be revealed!), puts her own feet into painful shackles, and gets ready to be at the beck and call of her masters.

McAfee VirusScan stumbles upon the truth

Apparently, McAfee released a set of antivirus definitions that triggers the removal of some .exe files from Windows XP and Excel 2000.

So they think Windows XP and Excel 2000 are viruses. They might actually be right, you know.

林夕的普選時間表

那天我不斷追問，為甚麼是二百年呢，為甚麼要強調這數字呢，把老婆煩死了。不過最近我有了新的解讀：如果歌詞裡的「你」所指的是普選，那整篇歌詞就變得擲地有聲、言之有物了。請看：

You've gotta be kidding me. Is this an April Fool's joke that got published prematurely?

I can think of other cool mobile apps:

Fake voicemail: "Please leave a message after I hang up..."
On-demand ear-piercing interference: "I can't hear you well... are you in the subway? SCRATCHY-SCRATCH BOO-BEEP SCREEEEEEEECH." *hang-up*
Telemarketer match-making: On receiving an incoming call from a telemarketer, the app calls another random telemarketer, initiates teleconferencing, and hangs up.
