In a perfect world, nobody ever helps anybody else with computer problems.

This way, stupid people will be automatically bumped off the Internet by their own stupidity - through clicking on just about any link given to them, running whatever attachments other stupid people e-mail to them, and answering Yes/No questions mindlessly.

Call it Darwinism as Applied to the Internet.

雖然是舊 post，但不得不回應。 I'm with Adrian Chow on this one.

It's reasonable for people to worry that popularity means having to do stupid stuff you don't want to do, which would distract Kay from making good music. Reasonable, but not necessarily right.

Popularity doesn't mean having to do stupid stuff. It's the desire to maintain popularity that brings those stupid stuff. Popularity, by itself, brings opportunities and exposure, and that means more people get to come in contact with the rich message that Kay's music carries. Not a bad thing at all.

A somewhat related quote:

Jesus said, "Feed my sheep. I tell you the truth, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go." (John 21:18)

Will Kay be the leader and take people where they never thought they would go? Or will she be the one who is led astray? It all depends on how she deals with the popularity.

竟然發了一個「全球暖化」惡夢。

夢的詳情已經記不起；只記得最後，因為冰川溶化導致水平線大漲（當然夢境裡沒有真的看見冰川，只是「感覺到」事情背後的原因），海水湧進家裡，就此被淹死，臨死前還在想，怎麼可能這麼快？

Al Gore 也解釋過，全球暖化之所以是沒有人願意迎接的挑戰，主要是因為到現時為止的變化都來得很慢，而人性的本質就是沒有突然的、巨大的變化的話，就不會察覺到危機也不願意面對。忽發奇想：如果神要拯救人類的話，會不會就在每個人的腦子裡都種下這樣的惡夢？

有點像《Close Encounters of the Third Kind》裡面，很多人都感應到同一影像的橋段。
